NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE
The goal of Naturopathic Medicine is to find
and treat the underlying cause of illness rather than treating symptoms
alone. Dr. Barnett seeks to gain understanding of the inter-relatedness
of each patients medical history, current health concerns, mental/emotional
state and lifestyle behaviors. After your evaluation, Dr. Barnett will
recommend a treatment plan which can involve therapeutic nutrition, herbal
medicine, nutraceuticals (vitamins and minerals), acupuncture, homeopathy
and lifestyle modifications.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is based on a 4000 year old practice of inserting fine needles
into specific points, or meridians, along the body to unblock areas of
stagnation. The result is an improvement of circulation to compromised
areas which allows the body to begin healing and repairing itself. The
World Health Organization recognizes the ability of acupuncture to treat
over 200 common conditions.
